World Osteoporosis Day 2007 activities at Servier
The Servier World Osteoporosis Day took place on October 24th, with employees being informed by the mean of e-mails and posters.
Prof P.D.Delmas kindly accepted to take part in a conference for the Servier employees. During his talk, he addressed osteoporosis, its consequences, how the disease could be identified/diagnosed, the way to prevent it and its consequences in terms of quality of life, mortality and pharmaco-economics. The conference was followed by a series of questions and answers showing the great interest of Servier employees for this disease.
At the end of the conference, each participant received a leaflet (with an editorial from Profs Delmas and Reginster) containing the topics adressed during the talk.
From October 22nd on, Servier employees were able to access an intranet website created especially for this event and focused especially on osteoporosis. The content of the website is very complete and gives each employee the opportunity to assess her/his risk of having osteoporosis by the mean of the IOF One Minute-Risk Test. Moreover Prof Delmas' conference has been put online to be viewed by those who couldn't attend.
From October 22nd to October 26th, our different restaurants proposed each day a bone-friendly menu: the quantity of calcium for each dish was mentioned and the recipes were put online on our intranet website.
