IOF Corporate Responsibility Program for Bone Health

World Osteoporosis Day 2008

October 2008 was designated Osteoporosis Awareness Month at Wyeth. This was an opportunity to educate employees about how to improve and protect overall bone health. A logo was placed at company cafeterias for several days and the IOF Joan Rivers public service announcement was displayed on all US video screens.

Also in February 2008, Wyeth reinforced knowledge about osteoporosis through the event that celebrated the IOF Corporate Certification with an information session in Collegeville, a Winscreen presentation that went to all affiliates, and an article in the Wyeth Window. Also, as part of the Wyeth Menopause Awareness activities throughout the month of September 2008, information about osteoporosis was inlcuded in various employee communication activities, including FYIs, Winscreens, Lunch and Learn, and interactive quiz. In addition, the Menopause Awareness initiatives, Wyeth underscored the connection between menopause and osteoporosis risk.

Wyeth joins IOF Corporate Responsibility Program

Wyeth was recognized as a member of the IOF Corporate Responsiblity Program for Bone Health in a press release issued by IOF on February 18, 2008. An award certificate was presented to Cathy Kerzner, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Women’s Health Care, at Wyeth, by Daniel Navid, IOF CEO.

“We are delighted to recognize Wyeth for their adoption of the IOF Corporate Responsibility Program for Bone Health,” noted IOF Chief Executive Officer Daniel Navid. “In doing so, the company has made a commitment to fight osteoporosis, to increase awareness about the condition, its risk factors and what individuals can do to reduce the risk of fractures.”

In 2007 Wyeth carried out several internal events, including World Osteoporosis Day observance, to heighten bone health awareness among its employees. The activities emphasized exercise, nutrition, education, and motivational content. The program is to be continued in 2008 in order to encourage bone healthy lifestyle and osteoporosis awareness among Wyeth employees.
