IOF's Vision

The vision of the International Osteoporosis Foundation is a world without osteoporotic fractures.

IOF's Mission:

To increase awareness and understanding of osteoporosis.
To motivate people to take action to prevent, diagnose and treat osteoporosis.
To support national and international societies in order to maximize their effectiveness.

IOF's Goals:

To nurture and enlarge the IOF network of member societies worldwide.
To promote medical innovation and to improve care.
To expand our partnerships with organizations working on similar or complementary issues and projects.
To lobby for policy change in all countries so that diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis becomes standard.

The purpose of the IOF website is to provide credible and up-to-date information on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis. This information is intended for the general public, healthcare professionals and policy makers. All medical and scientific information is reviewed by the IOF Science Manager in collaboration with members of the IOF Committee of Scientific Advisors. More information here.
