Members are independent, not-for-profit osteoporosis societies or organizations which carry out medical activities, generate public awareness and policy change, and provide a variety of services to osteoporosis patients.
Although most member societies are from nations, the
IOF CNS membership also includes independent territories, commonwealths, protectorates and geographical areas.

Read out about membership benefits and how to join.
Please note that new member societies must apply as Associate Members. Associate Members enjoy all the benefits of full membership, except for the right to vote at committee meetings. No membership fee is charged for the first two years, but the society must apply for full membership after the initial two years.
More information about the CNS
Many members of the CNS belong to the Patient Societies Subcommittee, an important forum for sharing information about international awareness and education programs carried out by the patient-oriented societies within the CNS. Activities of these societies include lobbying for better prevention, promoting early diagnosis for those at high risk for the disease and empowering the patient through support groups and independent information about treatment options. The Subcommittee, like the entire CNS, meets at least once a year. An important forum for the exchange of ideas within this group is the annual IOF World Wide Conference of Osteoporosis Patient Societies. In addition the CNS includes a small Membership Subcommittee which reviews applications for membership to the CNS.
