CSA Working Groups

The Full Members of the CSA have been split into working groups based on their different areas of expertise. The objectives of the different working groups are:

• To formulate international policy guidance and statements to update IOF positions as appropriate.
• To focus on producing projects of international relevance and delivering a position paper.

The six CSA working groups are:

Epidemiology/Quality of Life

Pathophysiology

Chaired by Prof. S. Ferrari

Nutrition

Chaired by Dr. A. Mithal

Bone Imaging

Chaired by Prof. H.K. Genant

Orthopaedics/Fracture

Chaired by Prof. K. Åkesson

Educational Activities for Young Investigators

Chaired by Prof. E. Seeman

Several of the projects were established by the European Foundation for Osteoporosis (EFFO) before it merged with the International Federation of Societies on Skeletal Diseases (IFSSD) in 1998 to become the IOF.
