CSA Working Groups and Research Projects

CSA Working Groups

Full Members of the CSA have been invited to join working groups based on their different areas of expertise. The objectives of the different working groups are:

  • To formulate global policy guidance, scientific guidelines and general statements to update IOF positions as appropriate.
  • To develop educational and research projects of international relevance.

The eight current CSA working groups are:

Bone Imaging Working Group

Educational Activities for Young Investigators Working Group
Chaired by Professor Ego Seeman

Epidemiology/Quality of Life Working Group
Co-chaired by Professors Cyrus Cooper and John Kanis

Fracture Working Group
Chaired by Professor Kristina Åkesson


Inadequate Responders Working Group

Chaired by Professor A. Diez Perez

Joint IOF-IFCC Bone Marker Standards Working Group
Co-chaired by Cyrus Cooper, with IFCC

Pathophysiology Working Group

Chaired by Professor Serge Ferrari

Nutrition Working Group
Chaired by Dr Ambrish Mithal
