Vision:
To integrate orthopaedic and medical aspects of treatment.
Aims:
The CSA Fracture Working Group proposes to produce projects which aim to improve standard of care and primary management of fracture patients suffering from osteoporosis.
Characteristics of the working group:
- Participating members are experts in the field of osteoporosis and fracture patient management.
- The envisaged projects are global, covering all continents of the world.
- The Fracture Working Group will be given further advice from the IOF Committee of Scientific Advisors.
Objectives of the working group:
- To understand the effect of osteoporotic fracture treatment on bone healing
- To review and promote the best clinical practices in the management of osteoporotic fracture patients within the international orthopaedic community
- To develop synergic collaborations (clinical pathways) between orthopaedics and allied health professionals to prevent subsequent fractures
