Government Partnerships
IOF is pleased to work with governments and governmental agencies in a common goal to help further osteoporosis prevention, and improved diagnosis and treatment of patients.
In particular, IOF has worked in partnership with the European Union on policy initiatives to raise the priority of osteoporosis within Europe. For further information see European Union Initiatives, EP Osteoporosis Interest Group and EU Osteoporosis Consultation Panel.
On a global level, IOF provides direct and indirect support to its member societies in order to help them enter into government partnerships or gain official attention and recognition. For newly founded national osteoporosis societies IOF membership and endorsement, and/or the visit of IOF expert speakers and officials, is often instrumental in gaining government recognition.
