This comprehensive CME-accredited course is held annually at the InterContinental Hotel in Geneva, Switzerland. With a limited number of participants, the course is designed to encourage informal discussion and interaction with the expert speakers. It is an ideal learning opportunity for medical and allied health professionals as well as industry representatives who wish to gain an overall understanding of this serious disease and its management.
The 2 1/2 day course has been granted up to 15 hours of European external CME credits*.

The Course objectives are to provide an understanding of:
- the underlying physiology and epidemiology of the disease of osteoporosis
- the signs and symptoms of osteoporosis, and ability to identify them
- the current diagnostic methods available and how to implement them
- treatment options available for osteoporosis and the proper assessment of treatment options for the case in hand
- the interactions between bone and skeletal muscle
- related disorders such as osteoarthritis, sarcopenia and tumoral bone diseases

The IOF Advanced Training Courses on Osteoporosis has been accredied by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME).
Since 2007, the IOF Advanced Training Courses on Osteoporosis have been accredited by EACCME (designated for a maximum of, or up to, 15 hours of European external CME credits). Through an agreement between the European Union of Medical Specialists and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Information on the process to convert EACCME credit to AMA credit can be found at www.ama-assn.org/go/internationalcme. Live educational activities, occurring outside of Canada, recognized by the UEMS-EACCME for ECMEC credits are deemed to be Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
