Description of the programme
The project began in 2000 and will run to the end of 2001. Its objectives are to increase awareness of the importance of healthy bones and of adopting a health lifestyle in childhood to prevent osteoporosis. The programme aims at motivating teachers, via teacher workshops, to educate their pupils on this theme. At present, the tools used include the Society Bulletin, slide presentations, leaflets and questionnaires. Teachers then impart the information within the school curriculum and also through special activities.
