20th IOF Advanced Training Course on Osteoporosis
February 1-3, 2011
The course was held at the InterContinental Hotel in Geneva, Switzerland, for a limited number of participants to encourage informal discussion and interaction with the expert speakers. The 2 1/2 day course (designated for up to 15 hours of European external CME credits) was aimed at medical and allied health professionals as well as industry representatives who wish to gain an overall understanding of this serious disease and its management. Its objectives are to provide an understanding of:
- the underlying physiology and epidemiology of the disease of osteoporosis
- the signs and symptoms of osteoporosis, and ability to identify them
- the current diagnostic methods available and how to implement them
- treatment options available for osteoporosis and the proper assessment of treatment options for the case in hand
