Hong Kong, Macau & China Tours

Terms and conditions

The optional tours in Hong Kong are organized by International Conference Consultants Ltd (ICC). The tours can be booked in connection with your registration.  There will be a tour booking desk at the congress venue as well.  

  • All tours will be conducted in English.
  • All prices are quoted in Hong Kong dollar with US dollar stated as reference. As of today, no GST is required by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
  • Food and beverage are not included in the prices unless stated otherwise.
  • Gratuity to guides, drivers and service staff is not included and not compulsory, but highly appreciated for good service.
  • Excursion duration and date of operation are subject to change (e.g. in cases of weather constraints or the minimum number of participants is not achieved).  The Local Tour will be operated on a minimum of 20 persons and the Macau and Mainland Tour will be on join-in basis with other non-IOF Regionals 2013 Hong Kong participants.
  • For all the Local Tours, the pickup point and drop off point will be the Main Entrance lobby of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, with the exception of the late afternoon and night tours and Macau and Mainland Tours when drop off point will be advised on tour confirmation.  You are required to provide your accommodation details to us upon registration for the tours. 
  • Cancellation of tours with full refund can be made until October 16, with 75% refund until October 30, with 50% refund until November 15 after which unfortunately no refunds can be made.

Local Tours

LT1: Hong Kong Island Tour

Date: 11 December 2013 (Wed) or 12 December 2013 (Thu)
Time: 0900 – 1400
Tour Fee: HK$320 per person (approx. US$42)

The Peak offers a breath-taking panorama of Victoria Harbour and the Kowloon Peninsula.  You will be able to enjoy a scenic view of Repulse Bay, a popular summer escape for swimmers.  Just around the corner is Stanley which is famous for its relaxed ambience and street market.  Shopping at Stanley Market is always fun and there are many bargains to be found.

LT2: Tsing Ma Lantau Monastery Tour

Date: 16 December 2013 (Mon)
Time: 08:30 – 15:30
Tour Fee: HK$800 per person (approx. US$104)

This tour is a delightful experience and the best way to explore Lantau Island. Through the fast and scenic drive along the expressway and the Tsing Ma Bridge soon takes you to this unspoilt island. Lantau with its natural beaches, simplistic fishing village, peaceful monastery neighboured by the world’s largest Buddha is an ideal destination of a wonderful day. The tour includes visit through Tsing Ma Bridge to Tai-O Fishing Village, and Po Lin Monastery, with a Chinese vegetarian lunch. The tour ends with a spectacular ride aboard the Skyrail cable car offering stunning views going down to Tung Chung.

(Should the Skyrail be cancelled due to inclement weather or other safety reasons, alternative transportation will be arranged.)

Macau & Mainland Tours

MT1: Macau Excursion

An hour's hydrofoil ferry ride brings you to the previous Portuguese enclave – Macao. Macao is rich in culture and heritage. You will enjoy visiting the 16th-century Kun Iam Temple and travelling up Penha Hill and Chapel for a magnificent view of the city. The tour will also lead you to the Ruins of St. Paul's Cathedral, Monte Fort, Senado Square and Avenida da Praia Residences. There are plenty of casinos in Macau offering a wide range of games.

MT2: Shekou / Guangzhou Tour

Time: 07:00 – 20:00
Tour Fee: HK$1,400 per person (approx. US$182)

Tour pick up from hotel lobby to the pier for a 45 minutes hovercraft ride to Shekou.  The tour includes the following attractions traveling by coach upon arrival at Shekou.

Shekou:  The First Special Economic Zone in China

  • An outlook of the whole industrial area of Shekou
  • Terracotta Warriors & Horses Exhibition from Xian
  • A Kindergarten (Except School Holidays)
  • Shenzhen Safari Park
  • Free Market

Guangzhou: The Capital of Guangdong Province

  • The Six Baiuyan Temple
  • Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall octagonal building designed in palatial style
  • Lunch en route
  • Depart for Hong Kong by through train

Arrival Kowloon Station and transfer back to hotel

MT3: Shenzhen City Tour + China Folk Culture Villages

Date:  16 December 2013 (Mon)
Time: 0700 – 1600
Tour Fee: HK$950 per person (approx. US$124)

Itinerary:

  • In the morning, pick up from the designated hotel.
  • Catch the first-class train to Shenzhen
  • Take a brief city tour and discover how Shenzhen is developing
  • Visit an exhibition of the famous Terra-cotta Warriors & Horse.
  • After lunch, visit China Folk Culture Villages to meet the ethnic minorities and their traditional dwellings. Continue to see Splendid China to observe the extraordinary collection of miniature replicas of China best lovely attractions. Afterwards, return to Hong Kong by first class train. Tours end at Tsimshatsui Districts. (guest return to hotel on their own)

  • Visa fee (whenever applicable) is not included.
  • Please bring along your passport on China & Macau Tour.
  • For guest holding Diplomatic, Military or Official Passport, China Visa application is subject to approval by China Visa Office.

Beijing Tour

Visit Lama Temple, the Great Wall, Ming Tombs, the majestic Summer Palace, and Laoshe Tea House for fragrant Chinese Tea.  Ride a pedicab through the Hutongs, visits the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and Temple of Heaven. Return to Hong Kong on Saturday evening in time for a night flight home.

Shanghai and Hangzhou Tour

Visit Yu Yuan Garden, the Old Town Bazaar, the famous Bund waterfront area, and the Shanghai Oriental Broadcast Tower.  Visit Wuzhen – the ancient Water Village.  Travel to Hangzhou for a visit to Lingyin Temple, the beautiful West Lake, Six Harmonies Pagoda and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum. Delegates at the Satellite Meeting will have a modified tour.

Xian Tour

Visit the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, Huaqing Hot Springs, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Shaanxi Provincial History Museum, Old City Wall, Bell Tower, the Great Mosque and Hanyang Mausoleum.  Return to Hong Kong on Saturday afternoon.

Jiuzhaigou Tour

Start the tour in Chengdu with a visit to Kuan-Zhai Lane, fly to Jiuzhaigou with its multi-level waterfalls and colourful lakes and visit the remote Huanglong World Heritage Site. Return to Chengdu and visit the Leshan Giant Buddha, Mt. Emei and Panda Base.
