Members of a joint committee of IOF and ISCD came together for an intensive three-day workshop in Switzerland on the weekend of June 15-17. The Committee finalized the curriculum for the new Densitometry, Diagnosis and Care of Osteoporosis Course (final title to be confirmed) which consists of 13 modules of 60 slides each, reflecting the expertise and strengths of both organizations.  Read more
The Sri Lankan FRAX® model was launched on March 15, 2012 in Cinnamon Lake Hotel in Colombo with the participation of nearly 60 leading physicians, endocrinologists, rheumatologist, and postgraduate trainees in Colombo and suburbs. An extensive national campaign was conducted in France over the period of December 2008 to March 2011 to enhance the role of the pharmacist in the management of osteoporosis. This was an educational initiative launched by GRIO (Groupe de Recherche et d’Information sur l’Ostéoporose), Cespharm (National Association of Pharmacists), and the IOF. Read more
IOF and its members were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Professor Lederman on April 16, 2012 at the age of 76. Professor Lederman was a long-serving Board Member of the IOF from 1999 to March 2012. IOF extends its condolences to Professor Rubem’s family and friends.
