Taijiquan is an internal style of martial arts that was created in the Daoist Monastery located on Wudang Mountain in Hubei Province, China. The Taijiquan conception is based on the philosophies of Taiji and Yin-Yang. It is believed that by understanding these two theories we are able to train our bodies, maintain our health and physical strength, and gain longevity. Over the years, Taijiquan has spread outside of China and has gained a huge popular following around the world.

The event is open to all participants, exhibitors and registered accompanying persons as well as to the general public.

The Osteoporosis Society of Singapore (OSS) will hold a Public Forum just prior to the opening of the 1st Asia-Pacific Osteoporosis Meeting. All registrants and accompanying persons are cordially invited to take part.  See Programme (PDF, 988.3 KB)

This event has been organized to help the public to understand osteoporosis, a disease which resulted in 9 million new fractures worldwide for the year 2000 alone. Experts will give informative talks on what osteoporosis is, the types of treatment available, and types of exercise and diet suitable in slowing down bone loss. In addition, there will be practical demonstrations by a physiotherapist and a master chef – Judy Koh. There will also be manned stations where members of the public can find out more about osteoporosis, pose questions, and calculate their individual fracture risk using the FRAX® tool.
