IOF Regionals 3rd Middle East and Africa Osteoporosis Meeting is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide the following CME activity for medical specialists. The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), www.uems.net.

The IOF Regionals 3rd Middle East and Africa Osteoporosis Meeting is designated for a maximum of (or 'for up to') 18 hours of European external CME credits. Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

Through an agreement between the European Union of Medical Specialists and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Information on the process to convert EACCME credit to AMA credit can be found at www.ama-assn.org/go/internationalcme.

Live educational activities, occurring outside of Canada, recognized by the UEMS-EACCME for ECMEC credits are deemed to be Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

2. Health Authority - Abu Dhabi (HAAD) CME/CPD Section

HAAD Accreditation designates the IOF Regionals - 3rd Middle East and Africa Osteoporosis Meeting for a total of 18.25 hours, each session will be granted
18.25 hours in the Category 1 credit of HAAD Designation. Each health professional must claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the activity.

  • Plenary sessions on Fracture, Vitamin D during Lifecourse, Who is at Risk and Who to Treat?, Treat to Target, Challenges with Osteoporosis Therapy, What’s new on the Therapeutic Horizon
  • Secondary Fracture Prevention Workshop, including Fracture Liaison Services in the MEA
  • Meet-the-Experts Sessions on ten different topics
  • Young Investigator Award Session – the five top ranking abstracts submitted by young scientists (aged 40 years or younger) will be awarded 1000 USD each and will present their work at a special session on Sunday, December 6, 2015.
  • Young Investigator Mentoring Programme (by invitation only) - young scientists (aged 40 years or younger) with an interest in osteoporosis and related musculoskeletal diseases are provided with the opportunity to be mentored by leading experts in the field. The programme aims to: assist participants in the advancement of their work; provide professional networking opportunities; and promote innovation in scientific research.
    • 25 Young regional scientists will be accepted into the mentoring programme, based on the quality of their submitted abstract to the Meeting.
    • The selected scientists will also get a free registration to the meeting.
  • Office Hours – bring your questions and challenging cases to our experts who will advise on clinically related issues and patient specific cases.
  • Oral Abstracts Sessions – the 12 top ranking abstracts will be selected for oral communications
  • Moderated Poster Sessions will take place during the break in the Exhibition area: an opportunity to give your research added visibility and for interaction with other delegates
