Dr. Ghassan Maalouf, an orthopaedic surgeon at Saint George Hospital in Beirut, Lebanon, received the prestigious first IOF President’s Award – which recognises an outstanding individual who has made a significant and unstinting contribution to the advancement of the work of the International Osteoporosis Foundation. Among his many achievements, Dr. Maalouf, an IOF Board member and IOF representative to the Bone & Joint Decade, has helped to further the osteoporosis movement in the Middle East.
