Famed by Hong Kong’s stunning skyline, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) is a magnificent, multi-purpose venue located right in the heart of Hong Kong on Victoria Harbour.

Cash Dispensers/ATM

A few ATM machines are available in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center

City Information Desk

The City Information Desk is available during Exhibition opening hours within the Exhibition Area.


IOF delegates are asked to refrain from taking children and accompanying persons to any scientific session. Registered guests and children (as accompanying persons) are welcome to relax in the various rest areas, however, children under the age of 16 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times. Please contact your hotel for a list of babysitters.

Coffee and Refreshments

At given times, Coffee breaks are served with the Exhibition & Poster Areas for participants, registered accompanying persons and Exhibitors that purchased the Coffee Break and Lunch packages.

Coffee, refreshments and snacks can be purchased from several Food and Beverages outlets in the Meeting Venue or neighbouring shopping centre.

Dress Code

Dress is informal throughout the entire Meeting. IOF, however, reserves the right to refuse access when deemed necessary for the comfort and safety of all delegates.

Medical Service

Medical Service will be available during Monday to Saturday in the Convention Plaza adjacent to the Convention Centre. The nearest hospital is Ruttonjee Hospital which is within 5-minutes driving distance.

Hotel Information Desk

The hotel information desk will be operating at the registration area during registration hours.

Internet Access

WiFi connections will be available in the meeting area.


English is the official meeting language. No translation will be provided.

Liability and Insurance

The meeting organizer (IOF), the meeting venue (Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre), its official appointed agencies for all meeting and exhibitor arrangements International Conference Consultants Ltd. (ICC), Registration & Housing Bureau (MCI Suisse SA) and for Exhibition/Sponsor Relationships (MCI Group Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd.), and any suppliers, representatives or agents linked to the organization of the Meeting shall not be held liable by any person for any injury, damage, theft, loss, medical problem or inconvenience which may be suffered by any person while traveling to or from, or during such person’s presence in  Hong Kong in connection with this Meeting. Participants and their guests are advised to purchase their own insurance against any such occurrences.

Mobile Phones

Please be respectful to speakers and fellow delegates and switch off your mobile phones and any other beeping devices during all sessions.


The HKCEC has two underground parking areas with over 700 parking bays. The parking entrances are located at Harbour Road and Expo Drive Central.

Security and Emergency Procedures

In case of an emergency - dial 999 (Ambulance, Police, and Fire)

Any security problems or concerns should be reported to Customer Services Counter at each level and at Harbour Road Entrance of the Convention Centre or any security officer on patrol. Security staff will handle any emergency situation and everyone is asked to follow the instructions announced over the loudspeaker system. Emergency exits are marked with Green exit signs.


Smoking is not permitted in indoor areas of all restaurant premises, indoor workplaces, public indoor places, and some public outdoor places including but not limited to hospitals/clinics, airports, public lifts and toilets, air-conditioned restaurants, public transport, government premises, educational institutions, petrol stations, Internet cafes, shopping complexes and private office spaces with central air-conditioning;

IOF thanks all participants and exhibitors for not smoking at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre at all times. This includes the meeting rooms, exhibition & poster areas, restrooms, snack bars, and within 100 metres of the main entrances and exits of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Special Accessibility

The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre offers a full range of amenities to assist those with disabilities. Spacious guest lifts readily accommodate wheelchairs, and all entrances are ramped. Braille directory and teleloop system are installed in the Information Counters which are located at the Harbour Road and Expo Drive entrances. There are also tactile guide paths, specially designed toilets, and telephone booths. The Centre's car parks provide bays reserved for drivers with disabilities.
