Capture the Fracture® (CTF) is pleased announce that the first Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) onsite training in Canada was conducted in Montreal at Hôpital Jean-Talon.

The FLS team at the Hôpital Jean-Talon is led by Dr. Julio Fernandes (lead clinician) and Josee Delisle (nurse coordinator) who work together to identify more than 560 fragility fracture patients per year.

Dr. Marcela Moran and Dr. Luisa Plantalech from Buenos Aires, Argentina made a full day visit at the clinic. Dr. Moran, endocrinologist at the Hospital Británico de Buenos Aires, and Dr. Plantalech, endocrinologist at the Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires, are both initiating FLS at their hospitals.

The training was fruitful with Josee covering the key steps of FLS implementation, what makes an effective FLS, and the main types of FLS structure. Dr. Moran and Dr. Plantalech found the visit to be very useful, noting that “the solidity and time dedicated by Josee Deleslie and the conclusions of Dr. Fernandes are remarkable.”

Onsite FLS training is an important initiative of the CTF mentorship programme. It is an opportunity for new FLS to connect with local FLS experts for knowledge exchange.  CTF has run more than 9 onsite trainings in Russia, France, Brazil, Argentina, and Canada.

We welcome requests from all regions and countries, and the CTF Steering Committee will make best decisions on how to help you. Visit www.capturethefracture.org
