Baked celery stalks with ham

  • 800 g. celery stalks
  • 200 g. cooked ham, cut into cubes or squares
  • 80 g hard cheese (for e.g. Sbrinz, Gruyere, Parmesan), grated
  • Salt, pepper, nutmeg
  • 2.5 dl cream
  • 2 Tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 2 Tbsp ground hazelnuts
  • Vegetable bouillon
  1. Cut celery stalks in half lengthwise, then chop into small evenly sized pieces
  2. Cook in well salted boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain.
  3. Place celery in pan with small amount of boiling vegetable bouillonwater, cook until just tender.
  4. Drain celery, then place in a buttered gratin dish together with the ham cubes.
  5. Top with the grated cheese, add salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste
  6. Pour cream over the mixture.
  7. Mix the hazelnuts and the breadcrumbs, sprinkle over ingredients in the gratin dish.
  8. Bake in pre-heated oven (200°c) for 20 minutes.
  9. Serve warm.
