Baked Pears with Roquefort Cheese and Walnuts

  • 4 large pears (Bosc or Bartlett)
  • Olive Oil
  • Balsamic vineager, to drizzle
  • 130 g / ca 4.5 ounces Roquefort cheese (or milder gorgonzola instead)
  • 8 walnut halves (or 4 whole walnuts, cracked)
  1. Slice pears in half, scoop out core
  2. Rub with olive oil and season with salt and pepper
  3. Place pears in slightly greased gratin dish or baking sheet
  4. In bowl, crumble the Roquefort cheese and add walnut halves, spoon into each pear half equally
  5. Bake for around 30 minutes, until the pear halves are soft and the cheese bubbly.
  6. Drizzle with balsamic vineager
