Ingredients

dry (desiccated) coconut
sugar
milk
ghee
cardamon power
saffron leaves (15)
   

 

Preparation
1 Heat the ghee in a frying pan on a low flame.
2 Add the dry coconut. One warm, take out the mixture and keep separate.
3 Scald the milk in a frying pan it thickens (consistency of churned curd). Add the coconut to it and let it cool in a plate.
4 Heat a mixture of sugar with about 100 ml of water and cook it for 4-5 minutes. Let it cool.
5 Add the sugar syrup to the coconut mixture.
6 Add cardamom powder and saffron leaves for flavour.
7 Put the mixture in a one inch high tray and pat it till it sets.
8 Once it cools down, cut it into one and half inch squares (about 30 pieces).
