At a dinner in Hong Kong on October 26, 2007, Mrs Alice Chiu, founder and director of the Sheen Hok Charitable Foundation presented IOF CEO Daniel Navid with a cheque for more than 1.1 million HKD (ca. 140,000 USD). The funds were raised at a spectacular gala dinner held on the occasion of World Osteoporosis Day 2006 in Hong Kong. On this occasion, Mrs. Chiu – a well-known philanthropist and osteoporosis advocate who represented China at the 2006 IOF Women Leaders’ Roundtable – said, “We are proud and honoured to collaborate with the International Osteoporosis Foundation to raise funds for and serve people with osteoporosis”.

The generous donation will be used to support the first Asian “bone" of the IOF 206 Bone Fund (in the name of Mrs Alice Chiu) as well as to fund various activities in the region within the IOF Asian program.
